Web Folders Setup
Microsoft
Windows™ operating systems provide a way to connect directly to your web site
folders and use them as if they were part of the file system like is on you hard
drive, CDROM, DVD, Camera or other device.
Most
people don't know about this feature but you are about to learn it. This is an
awesome feature of the Windows™ operating system. You don't need and FTP
client program to access your web site files and folders. Wouldn't it be nice to
just copy and paste to your web site? YOU CAN! Just setup the Shortcuts as
described below.
Setup
a Web Folder Shortcut to the wwwroot on your Web Server:

Right
click on Windows "My Computer" click Explore - You will see My Network
Place on the left near the bottom.

Click
on My Network Places in the left Windows pane.

See
Add Network Place in the right Window pane.

Double
Click Add Network Place to Start the wizard.

Enter
http://www.yourdomain.com/ - click next.

Enter
your FrontPage user account name and password click OK. These you setup
in your web site control panel (Helm).

Accept
the default name or enter your own name for the shortcut - Click Finish

The
Web Folder will Open. - Close it.

Go
back to My Network Place
-
Notice
the new shortcut - Double click it - There's your web site.
Setup
FTP/Upload Database:
Setup
a Web Folder Shortcut to the Database folder on your Web Server:

Right
click on Windows "My Computer" click Explore - You see My Network
Place on the left near the bottom.

Click
on My Network Places in the left Windows pane.

See
Add Network Place in the right Window pane.

Double
Click Add Network Place to Start the wizard.

Enter
ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com/ - click next.

Uncheck
"Log on Anonymously" and Enter the FTP User Name that you created
on the web server. Click Next.

Accept
the default name or enter your own name for the shortcut. - Click Finish.

The
Window will open and ask for your password. Enter the FTP password that you setup
on your web site.

Check
Save Password - Click OK

Go
back to My Network Place - Notice the new shortcut - Double click it -
There's your database folder.
