What
makes East Coast Diver Different?
I've
been to a lot of online stores and found these computer generated websites
authored by some company twice removed on a "commerce server" and was
unable to find a shred of evidence that these folks even dive! Visit our site,
not just the store, and see photos of real people, including myself & staff, enjoying the
underwater world. We really do teach diving and dive for fun. We want to share
the underwater world with you and carrying these product lines just made sense. Exceptional
quality at exceptional prices! We offer DEEP student discounts too! In
fact, deep student discounts is why ECD began selling gear. Listen folks,
learning to dive, and diving with quality equipment doesn't have to be
expensive. ECD will always sell at the lowest prices we possibly can.
How
can we sell gear at such a huge discount?
Overhead:
ECD is a home based business and has low operating costs so we pass that savings
onto our customers.
Inventory:
ECD is home of the "slowest" shipping, well ok; not that slow. Let me
explain. We have a modest inventory on hand and special order much of what we
ship to you. That is why much of what you order ships within 3-5 business days
after you place your order. Patience equals great savings for you and shipping
is FREE or nearly free on many items! We will of course expedite any order; but in that case we must charge
actual shipping costs.

Why
buy from an authorized dealer?
ECD
is an authorized dealer/reseller for every product you will find in the online
store and therefore all factory warrantees apply. Many online stores sell gray
market products or will give you "their warranty". Recalls happen, unfortunately,
but without purchasing your product from an authorized dealer and registering
that product; you may never know there is an issue! Besides, the best prices can
be had buying factory direct and that is something only a dealer can do.
Why
do I have to give ECD my "C-Card" number and Agency, other online
stores don't need that information?
Industry
standard prohibits "legitimate" dive equipment retailers from selling
such items as regulators and tanks to non-certified divers. Therefore, in good conscience,
we just cannot and will not sell these items to non-certified
divers. We are well aware that some of you may wish to learn SCUBA in the
equipment you will be diving with on a regular basis. No problem, we highly
recommend it. Have your instructor drop
me a line and we will work out the details. This restriction is only on
Regulators and Tanks. Everything else in the store
does not require a "C-Card". Only regs and tanks will get you
underwater on compressed gas, savvy?
Why
is everything "on sale" ?
The
above much larger sales price represents the manufacturer's suggested retail
price which we always price well below. The "sale" price you see is
ECD's everyday low price, then we mark things down from there...
What
kind of discounts can I expect from ECD?
We
put together package deals at extraordinary discounts, usually 10-15% off of our
everyday "sale price". Look for added savings throughout the store,
like, buy a 1st stage at our regular "sale" price and get any 2nd
stage @ 10% off! Attention students. Open Water students of ECD
receive a whopping 15% off of their first purchase and get a
complimentary 10% off coupon good for 90 days after certification! Wow! I can
assure you that our prices can't be matched! Our courses are priced
competitively and our gear prices can't be touched! ECD is a one stop outfitter.
