Meet
Instructor & Technician Gary Smith About Gary

I am the owner and operator of ECD and want to share what has
became such an important part of my life, the underwater world. We're a family
who dives teaching families to dive. Come be a part of the excitement!
With that said, teaching diving just wouldn't happen without help.
The ECD team is dedicated to your enjoyment and most of all your safety. I
entrust the staff of ECD with the safekeeping of my students and anyone who
dives with them. I don't take dive safety lightly and these guys are top
notch!
Thanks Guys,
Gary

About
Mark

I met Mark as his DAN/AHA instructor and ended up teaching him
just about every dive safety course I offer. Mark has a burning interest in
dive safety and originally took his Divemaster training in Negril Jamaica. No,
he's not Jamaican, he just wishes he was! Kind of ironic that three of us
started our diving careers @ Couples
Negril with our spouses... Mark will also be teaching our Underwater Video
program! Read more on Mark's
page.

Meet Instructor & DMT Spotty Kiser
About Spotty

Spotty is our on-staff historian and lifelong dive educator.
Spotty has been diving since SCUBA hit our shores in the 50s and has been
teaching folks to dive for nearly as long. Heck, Spotty tells me stories of
teaching folks to dive on a double-hose regulator! Spotty might be found
diving in just about any venue that gets him underwater from the Caribbean to
a Cave! Spotty has been known to rub elbows with folks like Alex Brylsky
(editor of Dive Training Magazine) and we couldn't be luckier to have his
extensive experience on staff!

Meet Assistant Instructor Mike Bacon About Mike

Mike is a life long educator and has now traded in a classroom

Maryland Dive Club often meets at Mike's home and I get the feeling he's the
glue that binds.

About Randy

Randy is the ECD Florida "Referral" Instructor.
Randy and I were about to add some
PADI specific courses
to our line-up here in Hagerstown when he got the call to head up
American Dive
Centers' class operations in Coral Springs Florida. We thought, lets make
this happen anyway! ECD will now have a Florida affiliation, that's right;
take your class work here and we'll give you a referral to knock out your
checkouts in sunny Florida, either with Randy or one of our other Staff Instructors.
It's a win-win! We will also be using American Dive Center for our
Certivacation program and look
for some upcoming trips and events as well.
