Virginia Beach VA, May 31st and June 1st
Heading down to Virginia Beach to dive with Lynnhaven Dive
Center at the end of May. We're diving the Morgan on Saturday the 31st and
attending a post dive party at Lynnhaven Dive Center in the afternoon and
diving the Ricks or Hanks Sunday the 1st.
Price: TBD
Accommodations: TBD
The following from Lynnhaven's site:
John Morgan. (110 fsw) A 7,176 ton
Liberty ship sunk on it’s maiden voyage on June 1, 1943 after colliding with
the SS Montana. The John Morgan was loaded with lend-lease cargo which
included trucks, motorcycles, P-39 airplanes, 10 Valentine tanks and tons of
assorted weapons. This is one of the most interesting wrecks off of the
Virginia coast to explore.
Rick’s. (80 fsw) An intact fishing
trawler sitting upright. The wreck is covered with all kinds of marine
life. This is a good wreck for u/w photography.
Hanks. (70 fsw) A clam dredge that sank
in rough seas southeast of Rudee Inlet. The wreck is intact and upright
with a slight list to port. This is a fun wreck to dive.
Cooper River SC, June 14th and 15th

Chesapeake Bay Oyster Dives, Oct 4th
"The diving is fun and easy... the
oyster bars are 10-15 ft deep with only a very minimal current. The viz. in the
fall can be 8-15 ft and all season long the worst is still an arms length which
is all you need to find the oysters”- Captain Gerry
McDonald

Island, Maryland at 8:00 am and return back to the dock around noon. Plan to
